Buy property in Vaucluse

In the smallest Département of the region the ultimate lavender dream comes to life. The landscape consists of hills covered in poppies and fruit trees, mountains, plateaus with lavender and miles of vineyards. The capital is Avignon; other cities include Orange, Apt and Cavaillon. Seven villages have made it to the list of France's 152 prettiest villages: Ansouis, Gordes, Lourmarin, Ménerbes, Roussillon, Seguret and Venasque. The natural regional park Luberon is partially located in the Vaucluse, and owes much of its fame to the English writer Peter Mayle who lived in Ménerbes as a semi-anthropologist, writing about his neighbour, postman, plumber and bartender. Luckily this did not trigger a large-scale invasion of expats and the area has retained its tranquillity and loveliness.
